Required Vaccinations for Hajj & Umrah
All travellers to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, Umrah, or seasonal work must present a valid certificate of vaccination for the Meningococcal quadrivalent ACWY vaccine. The certificate should be issued no more than 3 years and no less than 10 days before arrival in Saudi Arabia.

What is Meningitis?
Meningitis is a severe infection of the meninges, the protective membranes surrounding the brain. Without prompt treatment, it can cause serious damage to the nervous system and even lead to fatal blood poisoning (sepsis).
During the 2000/01 Hajj season, a major meningitis outbreak occurred. Since 2002, the meningitis ACWY vaccine has been mandatory for all pilgrims.
Meningitis ACWY Vaccine Certificate
Upon receiving your meningitis ACWY vaccine at Zemmel Chemist, we will provide you with a certificate of vaccine administration. This is required for entry into Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and seasonal workers. Please ensure the details you provide match those in your passport.
